About Sandra Wilson - Misophonia and sound sensitivity specialist
I am so pleased to meet you and I want to say thanks for visiting my website. You are probably here because you feel that nobody else understands Misophonia or the pain you are in (or you may be here on behalf of someone else).

WHY I SPECIALISE IN MISOPHONIA

I'm a Clinical Hypnotherapist/psychotherapist with a special interest in working with Misophonia and extreme sound sensitivity. I believe there is a lot of unmet need and the people I work with often found that not many therapists have heard of the condition. I have worked successfully with many adults and children, enabling them to live more peacefully in their own homes, spend time with loved ones and find a way to live without fear of being triggered.

In my work with Misophonia, I am always guided by you - it is a complex condition that requires a 'holistic' approach meaning that I look at you as a whole person rather than just the symptom. I tailor my 5-session programme (Taming the tiger) to you as an individual rather than adopting a one size fits all approach. It's important to note that I do not claim to "cure" misophonia. Instead, I work with your nervous system to help it respond to the trigger sounds in a calmer way. There may be an underlying reason why your nervous system is so reactive, and together we can work to uncover some of these deeper emotional "drivers". Many people I work with have noticed a difference. Even small changes can create freedom from the misery of being controlled by this frustrating condition.
